Edge of a Dream
_
Just me and you..sittin on the edge of a dream…..
a cane and a line ..and an old guitar missin a string
..Cork headed down ’bout the time that I started to sing.
This time it aint’ me on the line..ringa linga ding ding…
_
Ole Duke raised his ears…somethin movin through the pines
Now he’s chasin a rabbit that he couldn’t catch four other times.
Got a place in the shade, my old friend,…. and time movin slow.
And my favorite country song comin through my radio
_
I wish that big ole “orange ball” in the trees….would sit still….
I sit and watch the rollin ripples and rills….
Runnin over rocks as old as the hills………
_
(Instrumental…………………… Possibly whistled)
_
(the)Day’s fadin fast…. that ole sun he’s a’headin for home…..
Old oak hangin over the creek…fallin all alone…..
(Wish I could) bottle and sell days like this..and keep the price low…
(I’d) make a million bucks…but there’s still no place that I’d rather go…..
_
Just me and you..sittin on the edge of a dream…..
a cane and a line ..and an old guitar missin a string….
……….a place in the shade, my old friend,…. and time movin slow.
And my favorite country song comin through my radio
