Gary Indianly from Ratte Burpe Ohio writes dearest ole Hughy ole buddy ole pal………..Yesterday you brilliantly addressed the riveting subject of Dogs Knowledge of Germs…..But I am a Cat lover and would like to know if Cats know about germs…. (I didnt form that as a questionsoyouwouldntputmeonprobation for asking TWO)…..my actual question is this….. What does a US citizen have to do to be qualified to vote? I’ve been studying real hard and trying to learn all I can about important things ……..I’m real confused.

.

From ole Hughbert.

.

Im putting you on EXTENEDED PROBATION. For seeking to put one past the SERVICE. We didnt just fall off a turnip truck ole buddy. You are in big twubble.

.

Now…… The Cat issue….. YES. Cats DO KNOW about germs….. That is why they are so finicky and irritable and won’t come when they are called. It’s also why they get hairballs stuck in their esophageal tubing. Cats are worried sick about germs.

.

They never wood have know about em…. if Ethel Schmedley hadnt written that scientivic journal-type book in 1963 entitled…. “How to Tell a Feline about Bacteria”.

.

Now for your SECOND question………..

.

Thanks to lots of  politicians who needed more votes ……. and have done such a great job of arranging the electoral system…..

All you have to do is have a heartbeat for EIGHTEEN YEARS.

.

You can forget actually being required to learn about crucial things…. and trying to make a sound, rational , well-thought-out choice that seems , in your best judgment, to be good for the nation…… NOT NECESSARY at all….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You dont have two demonstrate in any weigh that ewe have any understanding of how the world actually works.  No wonder you are confused.

.

Gary, you need not be concerned about having to pass a fundamental test or anything like that. It’s not RECQUIRED.  Just stay alive till you’re eighteen and you can cancel out even the wisest 75 -year -old’s vote…! (((By the weigh…there are SOME very informed and interested 18 year olds…..)

.

Its a great arrangement………………………………. temporarily…..and in the short term…..

until the long term shows us that the short term was a bad idea. So in the short term, try to think long term ..And be careful how you use terms…because WORDS MEAN THINGS.

.

Now…………….. that clears that up.

Serious side note… One of the arguments for the 18 year old having the right to vote ….. Was that , if they were going to be asked to be in the army, and in great peril… They should have a say in whether there is to be a war or other related things. Which, makes a good point, but still doesn’t address the fact that being older and wiser, aught to carry EXTRA WEIGHT in the voting booth. There is a solution to this dilemma. But it will never happen. So , no need in getting too many brain cells tied up in dealing with it.
